Auckland Trotting Club Inc (ATC) and its subsidiaries (together” us“, “we” or “our”), takes its obligations in relation to the privacy of your Personal Information seriously. In this Privacy Policy, “you” and “your” means the individual providing Personal Information to us.
The Act sets out our obligations and an individual’s rights, in relation to that individual’s (and in some cases, others’) personal information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person).

What information do we collect?
The personal information that we collect from you as a stakeholder may include information about your:
- name
- contact details (including phone number and email)
- address
We utilise Windcave-a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (“PCI-DSS”) compliant payments processor to perform credit card transactions, and Windcave collects your credit card details on our behalf. Your sensitive credit card data is never stored in, or transmitted through, our infrastructure. We will store the card holder’s name, last two digits and expiry date on the credit card so that you can identify which credit card you have used. Credit card data stored with DPS is subject to their privacy policy.
Who do we collect your personal information from?
You provide personal information to us when you make online bookings and purchase tickets through our booking and ticket sales website. By using our website, you consent to our online privacy policy. We may also collect personal information about you from third parties where you have authorised our collection of the information or the information is publicly available.

Should you refuse to provide us with your personal information or refuse to enter your credit card details on the DPS platform, we will not be able to confirm bookings and/or provide tickets to you.

In addition to disclosing your personal information to our staff, we may disclose your personal information to:
- any person/authority to which disclosure is authorised or required by the Act or any other law;
- Harness Racing New Zealand Inc. for promotional purposes; or
- any other person authorised by you.
Protecting your personal information:
Personal information collected from online booking and ticket sales will be retained by us in our database.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, modification, or unauthorised access, use and disclosure. These steps include confidentiality obligations imposed on our employees and service providers and the use of security measures for computer system access.
Once we no longer require your personal information for any of the purposes for which it was collected, we will, subject to any legal obligations and responsibilities, take reasonable steps to destroy our copies of your personal information.
What rights do you have in relation to your personal information which we hold?
We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use, and disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. If you become aware of any errors in your personal information or want to change your personal details such as your name, address, or billing details, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

Raceday / Event Terms and Conditions
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before purchasing tickets or attending an Auckland Trotting Club event. By purchasing tickets or attending an event oncourse, you are agreeing to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions.
1.0 Definitions
ATC means Auckland Trotting Club Inc.
Tickets and Hospitality Packages means admission tickets to public areas, racecourse stands, and / or specified hospitality areas with defined hospitality packages, or such other rooms, events or products provided by ATC at a Venue.
Venue means Alexandra Park, or other locations as specified on the admission ticket.
2.0 Agreement
2.1 Bookings are subject to the availability of the requested hospitality area and will not be reserved or confirmed until online purchase and full payment is received in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
2.2 Tickets and Hospitality Packages are non-refundable once purchased, subject to these Terms & Conditions and any obligations ATC owes to any consumer under applicable consumer law.
3.0 Payment
3.1 All bookings for Tickets and Hospitality Packages must be accompanied by full payment in the form of direct credit or by credit card.
3.2 GST will apply to all goods and services supplied where applicable. Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.
3.3 All Ticket and Hospitality Packages must be consumed within the timeframe as stipulated by ATC.
(a) Packages inclusive of beverages – ATC accepts no responsibility for late arrivals and the package duration may not be extended beyond the stipulated time under any circumstances. You must provide credit card details or cash for payment of beverages consumed past that time.
(b) Packages not inclusive of beverages – You must provide cash, EFTPOS or credit card details for payment of beverages when purchased.
4.0 Health and Safety
4.1 The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 requires visitors to take reasonable care that their actions (or lack of action) do not put themselves or others at risk and to follow any reasonable health and safety instructions given to them by ATC.
4.2 Be aware that horses are a hazard on site during racedays. Horses can be aggressive, they can kick out, stand on you and bite. Always be watchful where horses are present. Follow all instructions given by ATC personnel when moving in areas where horses may be present. Stay away from unauthorised access areas unless authorised to do so.
5.0 Use of facilities
5.1 The serving and consumption of alcohol is subject to liquor licensing laws including the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and its requirements. The management and staff of ATC believe that they have a responsibility to provide an environment that is not only comfortable and welcoming but is also where alcohol is served responsibly. With that in mind, the ATC Host Responsibility Policy has been implemented and applies to all events held at the Venue.
5.2 The Venue is a fully licensed venue. “BYO” alcohol is not permitted in any areas, including the grounds.
5.3 A smart standard of dress applies to all hospitality areas and events oncourse.. Anyone not adhering to the dress code may not be permitted to enter hospitality areas/events.
5.4 Promotional photographs and film footage is taken on racedays and at racing events. By entering the Venue, you consent to the use of your image by ATC, Entain and Harness Racing New Zealand for promotional purposes.
6.0 Facility signage
6.1 No branding or signage is permitted in any general or shared room facility.
7.0 Issue of tickets
7.1 All tickets are e-tickets, meaning you can print at home when suits. Alternatively, you can show your ticket on the day via your phone provided your screen is in good condition.
7.2 The issue of tickets to a particular facility does not permit entry to any other private facility. However, you may access and utilise public areas.
7.3 ATC will not accept responsibility for misplaced, lost or stolen tickets previously issued. Any replacement tickets will be issued at the sole discretion of the ATC, and ATC reserves the right to charge for the replacement of any tickets issued.
8.0 Display of tickets
8.1 Correct ticketing must be displayed at all times and/or on request. Failure to comply will result in entry being refused or removal from the Venue.
9.0 Conditions of entry
9.1 ATC has the right to deny entry into, or remove ticket holders / patrons from, a raceday where ATC has reasonable grounds to do so, including any breach of these Terms & Conditions, including, but not limited to, intoxication, being under the influence of illicit drugs, being inappropriately attired or deemed by management to be adversely affecting the enjoyment of the raceday by others.
10.2 You may be required to consent to a search of your person and/or possessions before entering the Raceday, and an identification check at any time. Any refusal may see you refused entry to the Venue, or any facility or area within the Venue, or may require you to leave the Venue. No refund of any part of any ticketed event or activity will apply.
10.3 Entry to the raceday may be refused if the authenticity or validity of a ticket is questionable, including because the ticket has been damaged or defaced in any way, or has not been purchased from ATC directly.
11.0 Alterations to the Raceday
11.1 Some hospitality areas are outdoors. In such cases, no alternative facilities are available in the event of unfavourable weather.
11.2 If any part of the Raceday including, without limitation, a race meeting, any race, performance or event is cancelled, abandoned or postponed, in whole or in part, due to adverse weather or for any other reason whatsoever that is beyond ATC’s control, there is no right to refund or exchange and no obligation is assumed by ATC for the arrangement of a substitute event, performance or any other element.
11.3 Due to unforeseen circumstances it may be necessary for ATC to reschedule the Raceday and, if ATC does so, ATC will use its reasonable endeavours to provide you with a comparable facility on the rescheduled day. If ATC does provide a comparable facility on the rescheduled day ATC is not liable to refund your ticket price.
11.4 Programmes, menus and the duration and timing of performances, events and other activities at the Raceday may be subject to alteration without notice. ATC reserves the right to vary, add, withdraw or substitute advertised programmes, menus, seating arrangements and/or facilities at any time.
11.5 Under no circumstances will ATC be liable to you if ATC is unable to perform its obligations under these Terms & Conditions due to any event or cause beyond the reasonable control of ATC.
12.0 General
121 All representations and warranties, whether expressed or implied are excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects a Client’s rights under applicable consumer law, to the extent that the Client is a consumer for the purposes of the Consumer Guarantees Act.
12.2 These Terms & Conditions are governed by New Zealand law and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
Responsible Service of Alcohol
Host Responsibility Policy. The management and staff of ATC and The Alex Bar and Eatery believe that we have a responsibility to provide an environment that is not only comfortable and welcoming but is also where alcohol is served responsibly. With this in mind the following Host Responsibility policy has been implemented.

The management and staff of ATC and Alex Sports Bar and Eatery believe that we have a responsibility to provide an environment that is not only comfortable and welcoming but where alcohol is served responsibly. Because of this, we have implemented the following Host Responsibility policy.
We provide and actively promote a good range of food for sale. Menus are always visible.
We provide and actively promote a range of low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks, including – low and zero alcohol beer, fruit juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee.
Iced water is attractively presented and always available free of charge.
It is against the law to serve alcohol to minors. If we are in doubt about your age, we will ask for identification. Acceptable forms of proof of age are a photo driver’s licence, an 18+ Evidence of Age card or a current passport.
Customers who are visibly intoxicated will not be served alcohol, will be asked to leave the premises and will be encouraged to take advantage of safe transport options.
Our policy is zero tolerance for aggressive, coercive or violent behaviour. Patrons displaying this behaviour will be asked to leave.
We promote a range of transport options to get you home safely. Taxi numbers on display. A telephone is readily available so patrons may call a taxi easily. We encourage people to have a designated driver. We will make the driver’s job more attractive by providing an interesting range of low-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks.
All these services are well promoted along with signage required under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
We maintain a training and management policy to give our staff the skills and support they need to do their job responsibly.
