The Dual Sulky Experience allows you to experience racing first hand.
You are paired up with New Zealand’s professional drivers in a purpose designed dual sulky where you then compete in a real race, complete with pounding hooves, cheering crowds and live commentary.
The Dual Sulky Experience is held under real race conditions. We insist on the same rigorous safety standards as we do for our normal racing. Drivers wear protective clothing, safety vests and helmets, all of which are provided as part of the package. Dedicated changing facilities make the transition from guest to driver an easy one.
Your pulse will still be racing, long after the dust settles!
The Dual Sulky Experience includes:
- Allocated change area with tailored racing silks to wear• Escort to the stables where you are introduced to your driver & horse• Overview of race experience and what is required e.g. equipment & your role in the race
- Pre race procession in the Parade Ring (outside the Alex Bar & Eatery)
- Head to the track for a warm up
- Your non racing guests are invited to watch from the Victory Circle – trackside at the finish line
- Mobile barrier start
- On course live commentary
- On course live TV coverage (depending on where your guests are)
- DVD for each participant
- Driver details published in the race book
- Chance to name your own horse for the race
