Woo hoo, you made it this far! Just one step to
go. Head on up to the friendly folks at the tote,
and tell them your race, your horse, the
amount you'd like to bet and the type of bet
you'd like to place.

Betting Types

Win
As easy as it sounds, choose the horse that you think will finish first.
Place
Choose a runner to finish in first, second or third place. (if there are 8 or more runners).
Each-way
An each-way bet is like having two bets in one. It combines a win and a place bet on the same runner. If your runner wins you will collect both the win and the place dividend or if your runner comes in second or third you will collect the place dividend. A “$1 Each Way”costs $2.
Quinella
Choose two runners to come in 1st and 2nd in either order. Finding it hard to choose? Pick 3 or more runners and ask for a 'boxed' quinella. Boxing 3 horses will cost you $3.
Trifecta
Choose three runners to come 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the correct order. The runners must come in the order you select. Not feeling confident? Box 3 or more horses up and sit back and relax as the order they finish in doesn't matter, just that they all finish in the top 3! Boxing 3 horses in a trifecta will cost you $6.
Easybet
Can’t decide? Take an Easybet, racing’s equivalent to a lucky dip. Easybets are available for all of the above bets. Just ask the TAB operator for an Easybet, tell them how much you want to spend and the computer will pick the runner(s) for you.
