STABLES ACCESS POLICY
The Auckland Trotting Club (Alexandra Park) is committed to providing a safe facility to ensure that Health and Safety legislation is always complied with. Our staff work hard to reduce the risk of accident or injury but are unable to eliminate all the risks involved in racing activities associated with horses.
STABLES ACCESS IS RESTRICTED
The Stables and the adjoining Float Park, Parade Ring and Track (The Stables) are considered a workplace and contain horses, vehicles and equipment which could cause injury if not handled correctly. As a result, access to The Stables at Auckland Trotting Club is restricted.
ACCESS to The Stables is limited to:
- HRNZ Licence holders (trainers, drivers, stablehands). Only HRNZ licence holders are permitted to assist with horses in the stabling area.
- Owners who hold a valid Owner’s Ticket.
- Auckland Trotting Club officials (including staff), approved contractors, staff of the Racing Integrity Board (RIB) and staff and contractors of Entain.
- Children aged 6 – 14 years old that have passed the Stabling Area Awareness Course (SAAC) and are under the supervision of an HRNZ Licence holder, an owner who holds a valid Owner’s ticket or an Auckland Trotting Club official.
- Individuals who hold a valid Stables Access Pass that has been obtained from the race day office and are under the supervision of an HRNZ Licence holder, or an Auckland Trotting Club official.
- Identification (e.g. Licence, or Pass) must be presented to security on entry to The Stables if requested.
- All internal directional and restriction signage must be adhered to within The Stables.
There is NO PERMISSION to enter The Stables to:
- Members of the public other than as described above.
- Pushchairs / strollers, people on crutches, and other with restricted mobility.
- People in wheelchairs without an attendant.
- Those under the influence of alcohol or drugs. No alcohol or drugs are allowed in The Stables.
- All accidents, incidents or near misses to people, equipment or property in The Stables are to be reported as soon as possible to the RIB Stable Steward and the Racing Director on 027 808 3150 or report in person to the Raceday Office.
A First Aid Kit is in the Numbers Room.
Auckland Trotting Club (Alexandra Park) is not responsible, and accepts no liability for any loss, theft or damage to possessions resulting from accessing The Stables.
Security personnel will be situated at the pedestrian entrances to The Stables enforcing this Policy and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Unlawful attempts to access The Stables may result in your removal from Auckland Trotting Club (Alexandra Park).
