NZB Standardbred Harness Million Series Race Night & 2023 Karaka Yearling Sale

An exciting & busy few days lie ahead for the harness racing industry with the running of the 2nd annual NZB Standardbred Harness Million Series Race Night at Cambridge Raceway on Friday followed by the NZB Standardbred's 2023 National Yearling Sale at Karaka on Sunday.

The Auckland floods and subsequent damage to the Alexandra Park race track have meant that our 2nd annual NZB Standardbred Harness Millions race night has had to be transferred to Cambridge Raceway this Friday night. Whilst very disappointing to lose our first premier meeting of the season, the night will be no doubt be a great success and we thank the team at Cambridge for stepping in to help us out.

Good luck to all trainers, drivers and connections for the two feature races, the $200k NZB Standardbred Harness Million Series 3YO race for the colts and geldings and also the $150k race for the 3YO fillies. For members and guests, we are running a bus charter to Cambridge which departs Alexandra Park at 3:00pm on Friday so do get in touch to book your space.

Another outstanding catalogue has been assembled for the NZB Standardbred’s 2023 National Yearling Sale to be held at Karaka on Sunday, 19th February. Whether you are a seller, buyer or just a casual observer, this is a great day out. The NZB sales complex is a world-class complex with a café, bar, and prime seating available for everyone.

Many of our members will be represented as sellers and buyers and we would like to wish them a successful sale, in particular Paul and Mary Kenny, Andrew and Sue Grierson of Woodlands Stud and Ken and Karen Breckon of Breckon Farms who have two very large drafts of exceptional quality yearlings to go under the hammer.
