Jason Teaz’s tips for Alexandra Park tonight

Commentator Jason Teaz makes his selections for tonight Best Bet: Race 9(4) Spice It Up
Each Way Value: Race 2 (7) John Wayne

Race 1

10 Aldebaran Flame
1 Heston Hall
3 Wanna Snuggle
8 Random Jude
ALDEBARAN FLAME is the clear top pick in  this with complete manners. The 2700m is the key with starting down the back straight being a big assist for her. Second in her only run at the distance was behind I See Fire.
HESTON HALL is the main danger. His best run in the north was last time when fourth beaten three lengths. Barrier one the only concern but definite each way here.
WANNA SNUGGLE performed averagely first up mirroring her lacklustre trials. Her form as an early three year old was vastly superior to these so just needs to find her best form.
RANDOM JUDE needed the first up run last week at Cambridge. That was her first public appearance since racing two consecutive days in early May. Fifth inonly look here and her main advantage is that she does everything right. The value place bet.
CHICAGO H has ability but is a risky proposition manners wise. Another who should appreciate the back straight start point and his last run he finished only just behind Aldebaran Flame and ahead of Wanna Snuggle.
They keep backing HILL OF PEACE and she keeps galloping. Have an open  mind on the 2700m start point too.
Throw in BRO FAWKES S for trifecta’s and first fours as he is a five race winner, a two time winner over 2700m and a great mannered horse.
Race 2
7 John Wayne
4 Once Bitten
2 Murphy’s Reward
3 Chris Kyle
JOHN WAYNE has been a blackbooker in both runs since winning in May. Driven upside down last time and still fought strongly for fourth. A big winning chance.
ONCE BITTEN delievered on her terrific trial form when winning May 28. Since returned to the trials and although beaten had excuses as she did hang a fraction. This is a big step up but expect her to lead.
MURPHY’S REWARD should have the gate speed to lead and trail here. Had to do too much work in the last two runs and this field is a notch down on what he’s had to race lately.
CHRIS KYLE didn’t have much luck last Friday at Cambridge. He ended up way back from nine and over raced. Found the line well when the leader had way too much of a head start. Forget the prior run as he speed dualed ferociously and came off second best.
HUGO GEORGE has only battled since winning an amateur race May 21. Barrier one is an assist though and is a place chance.
STAC has always had big wraps but really delivered  nothing. Another bad draw for him tonight may mean another night of pain at Alexandra Park.
HESASHORETHING won a pedestrian trial at Pukekohe last Saturday. Ran home in 27 but overall time was slower than qualifying. Up until his last run he had been quite consistent. Draw hurts.
Race 3
9 Phoebe Majestic
10 Willis Graham
5 Aardiebythehill
7 Cyber Attack
PHOEBE MAJESTIC’s manners keep letting her down. Should have gone close to winning in her last two but for either mid race or late gallops. In the latter she was in cramped quarters. Top pick.
WILLIS GRAHAM is getting better week to week. Only beaten a half length against these June 18. Manners the key.
AARDIEBYTHEHILL is a raw product. A big effort in defeat recording the quickest last half and quarter by nearly a second. On ability a winner but may still take another run or two.
CYBER ATTACK went a lot better race night than trial day. A similar performance to June 18 and she can win as she has the experience and manners over most in here.
THE GOVERNATOR has impressed at the trials. He’s still twelve months from showing his best. As a two year old he was rated better than Son Of Patrick, that’s some wrap. Keep a watch on tonight on debut.
Race 4
6 Eyecon
8 Joshua Richard
1 Harvey Specter
9 I Expect Bettor
EYECON keeps finding ways of being unlucky. Has been placed against race winners in amateur races previously and this is the weakest maiden he has struck. A big chance of winning.
JOSHUA RICHARD can’t buy a good draw but has been racing consistently since joining the Blanchard’s. Will be running on again.
His stablemates are also big hopes. HARVEY SPECTER is overdue a maiden win and the last time he drew well he placed in quick time at Cambridge.
The other is I EXPECT BETTOR who is unbeaten in five trial runs but raceday continually gets no luck. Another average draw. But in following out the stablemate that aids his chances. Has pure speed over his rivals and can win this.
LAURIE’S DELIGHT has more talent than most but constant bad draws means he has found more trouble than Liam Neeson. Doesn’t possess the gate speed to use a good draw but if he is two lengths off them turning in he can run over top.
FATHER QUINN is one for the brave. Disappointing in both runs in the North. He received an economical run last week at Cambridge but wobbled around the bend and lost ground. The draw puts pay to his win chances but in this field can get some.
Race 5
8 A Taste Of Honey
5 Chablis
11 Little Miss Perfect
12 Commander Cathy
A TASTE OF HONEY was only beaten a length in the Uncut Gems mares race two weeks ago.Barrier eight over 1700m is a hard ask but she flys the gate. Will need to work hard but is the top pick.
CHABLIS had no luck from one on the second row June 18. This is a jump in class but still a chance.
LITTLE MISS PERFECT gets another second row draw tonight. That’s not her go. Like A Taste Of Honey she drops back from the Uncut Gems though.
COMMANDER CATHY’s only glitch in the formline was a seventh in the Jewels. Has a tough draw tonight but racing in great fettle. Concedes age to her rivals.
EMMBER recorded her first placing at Alexandra park at her twelfth attempt two starts ago. A good staying type racing well, back from the Uncut Gems.
Race 6
7 Major Jellis
8 Got You Covered
10 Satchmo
6 Optical Illusion
MAJOR JELLIS doesn’t win out of turn. This field won’t scare him. He was only run down by a horse doing no work on the markers June 18. Will continue to roll forward until he finds the front. Hard to rundown.
GOT YOU COVERED was only a neck behind Major Jellis June 18. Barrier eight was a blow in the Jewels but this is no Jewels race. Each way.
SATCHMO delivered his best performance at Auckland June 18. Can unleash a very quick quarter when saved for one run. Will be taking the short cuts again.
OPTICAL ILLUSION ran third in a R57 and faster race last Friday. Made good ground widest out and recorded the second quickest sectionals. Auckland form is better than it reads on paper with a beaten three lengths by Hot And Treacherous sixth  May 21 highlighting that.
MARATHON MAN got a penalty free win at Cambridge June 11. Was a walk and sprint affair and this is stronger tonight. Hasn’t run a bad race at Auckland previously. Should have won two starts ago when savaged in front. Looks the early leader/ trailer here.
Race 7
4 Hot And Treacherous
7 Double Rocket
2 Mach’s Back
5 Cheezel
HOT AND TREACHEROUS was a certainty beat June 18. Just sat and waited way too long. Did well to finish so close to winning. A massive chance of winning.
DOUBLE ROCKET should have only improved. Fourth in his first race for fifteen months and never gave up. That was the Uncut Gems against many of these. One of the leading chances.
MACH’S BACK nearly stole the Uncut Gems race after enjoying a lovely run in the trail. Stand starts are not impossible for him but not his go either. Still racing in career best form.
CHEEZEL won the Uncut Gems mares classic. This is a step up but races this track nicely and was a close up fourth in stand company June 4. A first four chance.
HAVTIME flies the tapes and will need to from the 20m handicap. Consider.
As too, PLUTONIUM LADY who has a good record here. Second in the Jewels two starts ago. But 20m is a hard task in this company.
Race 8
8 I See Fire
4 In Sequence
7 Emma Frost
9 Kimkar Dash
I SEE FIRE is now on a winning roll. Goes back to a 20m handicap tonight but tha’s offset by the 2700m tonight. His eight length win came over the 2700m. Should win again.
IN SEQUENCE is a much improved horse in the north. Narrowly defeated by I See Fire two weeks ago. Enjoys a ten metre head start tonight. The main danger.
EMMA FROST is unlucky weekly. Lands in the wrong spot and is forced to make ground off the track. Don’t count her out.
KIMKAR DASH drops back in grade tonight from racing the open class trotters but cops 20m for her trouble. Sure to be flying home.
Race 9
4 Spice It Up
7 Ronda
8 Wet Flipflops
1 Shanlou
SPICE IT UP paced her last mile the quickest in the field when third June 18. Waited too long to pounce on that occasion. Has the draw whilst her main dangers haven’t. Should win on her trials and debut performance.
RONDA is close to winning. Barrier seven can be overcome but her good gate speed. Getting stronger at the back end of her races too.
WET FLIPFLOPS just can’t find the winning post first. Barrier eight hurts her chances here but is still tough enough to work and grab a slice of the stake.
SHANLOU runs her best races at Cambridge. Six starts there for five placings. However barrier one in a maiden helps tenfold and when drawing in this spot four starts ago wasn’t beaten far and showed enough lick early to hold up her spot. This field not strong so consider.
THE MISSING SOCK galloped in the score up and took no part when resuming June 4. Has since trialled but only fair last Saturday after leading. Gets a tick on gate speed but needs to find some ticker as well as her sock.
Race 10
6 Temporale
5 King’s Landing
4 Credit Master
1 Silver Power
The second best North Island trotter Temporale goes around again tonight and again only 30m behind. ;Loving these conditions and realy should win this for fun. Six weeks between races, but opened the pipes June 12 with an arrogant trial win sprinting home in typical Temporale fashion in 27.8. Should win.
KING’S LANDING picked up the Uncut Gems trot June 18. Gets 20m for his trouble and only a ten metre start on Temporale so shouldn’t be able to win but is in form.
CREDIT MASTER was entitled to win last time but was run down late. He’s very in and out and at his best he can definitely go close to winning and at worst should place.
SILVER POWER will look to make things interesting being the only runner off the front tape. Needs to make the backmarkers pay. An adequate fifth last time after handing up early.
INVICTUS hasn’t looked the same horse off big marks lately. Being only 10m behind tonight. He will be sure to adapt his old step and running ways.Needs to, to figure.
