What our judges are looking for:
TV star and Fashion Personality Colin Mathura–Jeffree
“My tips for MitoQ Alexandra Park Best Dressed are to be fashion forward & fearless. You can’t be seen to be so dull as to follow a trend but instead be the tread starter and temper your design with beauty, elegance and the richness of heritage….its all about the cut, the fit and finish.”
Herald on Sunday Fashion editor and fashion stylist Michiko Hylands.
“Naturally, I’ll be looking out for someone who looks absolutely incredible from head to toe. Someone who has “wow factor” and isn’t afraid to go all out and take chances wearing an ensemble that might push the fashion envelope. Colours, styles, shape and textures all need to be carefully considered. An outfit, corresponding millinery and accessories that incorporate current trends all styled in an innovative way are a great way to catch my eye.”
“In terms of millinery, key trends are halos, crowns, turbans and also boater hats. Things have gotten very decorative with ornamental beading taking centre stage. Interesting textures and the clever use of different types of materials such as lace, leather, feathers and even laser cut plastics all help to create a stunning look that is bound to make heads turn.”
