Scott Phelan is a very talented reinsman and a driver you can always rely on to put your horse in the race and give it every possible chance. This Friday Scott has five drives, all of which will be for the Scott Telfer & Chris Garlick trained team and of the five, he rated Prince Of Pops his best winning chance.

Here’s what Scott had to say about his drives:

Race 1 (7) Trilogy – “He has improved since his resuming run when he had to do a bit of work early and felt it late first up. He is working well and despite the wide draw, he rates a good each way chance in this.”

Race 3 (7) Corroboree – “He trialled not too badly last weekend but first up in the north and on the track will all be a learning curve for him. He is one to watch and take notes on from whatever he does on Friday night.”

Race 4 (3) Step Up – “She has a good draw to work with in this and she has been showing gradual improvement in her first few runs. There is a bit of speed around her so we’ll just see how the race pans out but hopefully with a bit of luck she can get an easy run and be a nice place chance.”

Race 6 (3) First Home – “He finds himself in a small but tidy field but in saying that I expect him to get away from the stand well and put himself into the race early. He keeps on trying and if he can get a nice run in transit he could add some spice into the top three.”

Race 7 (7) Prince Of Pops – “This guy rates as my best chance of the night. The mobile and 1700m conditions suit him down to the ground as does the small field. He has a touch of class about him and I expect him to be very hard to beat in this.”
