Pukekohe trainer Derek Balle always has a couple of promising types in his barn and that doesn't look set to change with progressive Somebeachsomewhere filly Lincoln Lady looking a filly with real ability. She lines up for Derek this Friday night along with Itsokbeingbetter and the AP newsdesk caught up with him to discuss how his two charges are placed heading into Friday night.

Race 2 (7) Lincoln Lady – “I was extremely happy with her first up run in the fillies Sires Stakes heat here at The Park two weeks ago. That was a much stronger field than she meets on Friday and I was really happy the way she attacked the line against those horses. She is still a wee bit of a work in progress and will only get better with racing but the raw ability is definitely there and if she can repeat her run from a fortnight ago, she would go close in this.”

Race 4 (7) Itsokbeingbetter – “He is suited to these conditioned non-winners type races but the draw makes it tough for him this week. He always gives his best though and is a chance of sneaking into the first four with a bit of luck.”
