Get the low down on the Dickie trained team for this Friday night at The Park
The Pukekohe father and son training partnership of John & Josh are a formidable force to be reckoned with and with a very nice team of horse flesh around them, it's no wonder they have already picked up nine wins here on the track already this season to be sitting third on the Alex Park trainer's premiership. This Friday night they have a strong team of six horses lining up including the return to the track of the very talented Motown & Bettor Think Quick, both of whom performed with distinction in age group features last season. The AP newsdesk caught up with son Josh to talk his team's chances and here's what he had to say.
Race 1 (4) Scarrymcleary – “He seems good at the moment and it was pleasing to see him step cleanly and trot much better when a close up third last week. The 1700m isn’t really his go but in the small field he would have to rate a top three chance.”
Race 3 (8) C K Spur – “He’s going real good at the moment and we have a high of opinion of him. He went a big race last time out after making a mistake early and losing ground before having to work mid-race to find the top. He is a horse on the rise and we expect him to take a power of beating in this.”
Race 4 (1) Motown – “He’s come back good this time in after having a good break but he will probably be in need of this run. The barrier draw will help him though and he shouldn’t be too far away in the small field.”
Race 5 (3) Bettor Think Quick – “She’s come back really well this time in and we are really happy with her work at home leading into this. She has continued to develop over the break and I would rate her quite a good chance of taking this out.”
Race 7 (4) This Excuse Is Fine – “He ran another game race last week for second and he is as honest as they come. He has worked well at home this week and we will look to hunt out from the draw to get on the speed and I would rate him a really good place chance in this.”
Race 9 (4) Sertorius – “He is a horse with ability but under lights first up at The Park is never an easy task for any horse. He is definitely capable of taking this out but he is probably one to mark down in your tracker as he gives us the impression that he is capable of making his way through the grades.”
