Forfeathers looks the best of the James Stormont trained barn this Friday at The Park

Nov 16, 2016 Trainer Interviews

James Stormont is a very talented horseman and this week he looks to have a couple of nice types in front of him. The AP newsdesk caught up with James to discuss how his team were placed heading into Friday nights events and of the two he has in, he felt the talented trotter Forfeathers was his leading charge. Here's what James had to say:

Race 5 (9) Forfeathers – “He goes ok this guy but he still has a bit to learn. He strikes quite an even sort of field with a few nice types in it so it won’t be easy for him but he does have ability although at this stage is is still learning his game. His gait has been improving and I will be hoping that he can get away with them again and put himself in the race. He was unlucky last start when he shied and gallopped as he was charging through and although he might not have beaten the winner, he wouldv’e gone close to second or third for sure. He is one to watch as he does have ability and not without a top three chance if things fall his way this week.”

Race 8 (6) Norvic Ruby – “This is her first run for me and we will be looking to learn a bit from her in this run. She is working OK at home but just went fairly in her trial for me last week at Pukekohe and there are a few very nice types in this race too. We will look to find a nice easy run for her somewhere and I will be happy if she is running on at the finish.”
