Blood And Whisky the BON for the Wallis/Hackett trained barn this Friday night at The Park

Nov 16, 2016 Trainer Interviews

Michelle Wallis & Bernie Hackett have four horses entered for this Friday night's meeting at The Park and don't forget to include their horses in all of your combinations, especially as per the norm in any trotting event here at The Park. The training combination do a great job with their horses and on more occasions than not, they are filling a top three position and usually at very nice odds. This week the AP newsdesk caught up with training partner Michelle to discuss their team's chances and of the four they have in, she rated Blood And Whisky their best winning chance but thought that the place value around Makarewa Jake could be very enticing to punters. Here's what Michelle had to say:

Race 1 (6) Makarewa Jake – “He went a real good race for fifth last time out and he seems to have really improved of his two runs back this time in. 2200m is is his pet distance and we are expecting him to be very competitive and I would rate him a real good place chance at nice odds in this.”

Race 5 (1) Full Speed Ahead – “He went a massive race last week albeit finishing seventh on paper, he had to work overtime and never gave it away in what was a very nice field. Drawn 1 on the front line would usually be a good thing but unfortunately for this guy it is likely to work against him as he doesn’t like to be crowded and would prefer to be out in open spaces. He hasn’t had a great deal of luck at all in recent outings and he hasn’t be far away in any of those starts so if he was just able to get the right run and a bit of luck went his way, a win wouldn’t be too far away but this week it looks like his luck might not be in again just with the draw and how the race is likely to pan out for him.”

Race 7 (4) Monnay – “He got knocked out of it early last week which ut na end to his chances but Johnny said that he felt really good after and trotted around in pleasing fashion. He’s as honest as they come and his day will come so you would have to rate him a real good top three chance this week in what is quite an even sort of field without some of those really good horses that he’s been up against of late.”

Race 9 (9) Blood And Whisky – “He got dragged out of last week and Johhny said he felt he was a certainty beat. He’s not 100% full proof but if he brings his manners and things go his way, this field is well within reach of a horse with his potential so he should go close to taking this out and I would rate him as our best winning chance fo the night.”
