Barry Purdon talks his barn's chances for this Friday night at The Park

Clevedon trainer Barry Purdon will be back in the sulky this Friday night when he drives one of his two stable runners in the feature pacing event of the night, the $13,500 Southern Cross Finance 1700m mobile pace. He has three runners in on the night and looks a strong hand to go home a winner.

Here’s what Barry had to say about his team’s chances:

Race 4 (1) Atomic Betty – “She took a while to get her maiden win but now she’s got that under her belt, I expect her to continue to improve. She’s drawn the pole position over the 1700m which will be an assist to her and drawn to get a nice run in transit puts her in a good position to finish in the money here.”

Race 5 (4) Arden’s Choice – “She’s coming back from a disappointing run in the Jewels but her work since has been good and she trialled really nicely at the weekend. She is a quality filly and definitely up to these and I expect her to run very well.”

Race 5 (8) Major Ben – “He is a very nice horse and ran a massive race in behind a very smart one at the Jewels. He has a tough alley especially first up on the track but he has been going super at the workouts and in that kind of form, if he can handle The Park, he too will go close.”
