The Barron boys looking to continue on their winning way on the first night of the Premier Summer Carnival
Ken & Tony Barron are enjoying a stellar start to their first season as training partners and this Friday night at The Park they look to continue on their winning way. Last Friday night their American Ideal gelding Don Domingo set the track alight with a sensational performance to win on debut and he looks a massive chance of going back-to-back this Friday night - scary thing for the rest of them is that the team said that this week, he lines up an even better prospect. The AP newsdesk caught up with brother Tony to discuss how the team was placed heading into Friday night and here's all that you need to know.
Race 1 (12) Cullen Who – “We are very happy with her and how shes setlled in since arriving in the north. We can’t fault her condition and she is ready to run a big race. She has enjoyed success on the track previously, the only prohibitive thing standing in her way will be the draw. It will be a big ask to get around a few of these nice types but if things worked in her favour and she was able to get into it without having to spend too much energy, she will be a good chance of fighting out the finish.”
Race 4 (5) Ocean Ridge – “This guy is a very nice, natural 2YO with high speed and we have been impressed by what he has shown us so far. As with most of these 2YO’s a lot will remain unknown until this first start is out of the way but we think quite a bit of him and all going well, he should perform with distinction in this and progress through the series with good success.”
Race 10 (6) Don Domingo – “We knew he was capable of what he showed on debut last week and it was great to see him bring that to the track and win how he did. For him to win like that tells us he will go on with it and the way that his work has been since this week at home, you would say he has only got better and we are pretty confident of been able to double up this week.”
