Arna Donnelly looking for more Alex Park success this Friday night at The Park

Dec 1, 2016 Trainer Interviews

Cambridge trainer Arna Donnelly does a fantastic job with her horses and when she takes a horse to the races, you can count on it more often than not been ready to run a massive race. This Friday night she has two horses lining up and don't be surprised to see her blue & white colours to the fore. The AP newsdesk caught up with Arna to discuss how the team was placed heading into Friday night and of two she has in, she rated the newcomer to the barn in Diamond Prince her best chance of the night. Here's what Arna had to say.

Race 7 (1) Diamond Prince – “He’s a new addition to my team but all the signs he has shown since joining my barn have been positive. He’s working well and he’s ready to run a race on Friday. He’s quite a tough horse and he will keep on giving all the way to the line so from the inside barrier and given the overall evenness of the field, I would rate him as a definite top three player and the best winning chance for my stable on the night.”

Race 9 (6) Whale Rider – “This will be his first attempt on a race night right-handed so that is always a little bit of a watch but we have worked him that way at home and he has handled it all in his stride. He has quite a bit of gate speed so we will see if we can take advantage of that and get him into a forward spot early. There’s a couple of nice types in the field so it won’t be easy but he has a bit of ability himself and if he was to get a soft lead or a nice sit in the race, he is more than capable fo featuring in three here.”
